A shield is the primary parrying device.
The effectiveness of the parry is dependent I on how fast the shield can be brought to the parry position, or the Shield Speed (SS).
The Shield Speed (SS) determines the number of Shield Actions (SA) per phase.
SA = (SS) x (BAT)
The Shield Speed (SS) and weights are found on the Shield Data Table (2C).
Five different shapes of shields have been included.
These five shapes are:
Buckler 12 inch diameter, round
Round 24 inch diameter, round
Heater 24 inches by 30 inches, flat top and apex bottom
Kite 24 inches by 36 inches, flat top with apex bottom
Scutem 30 inches by 48 inches, rectangular
