====== The Basis for Recovery ====== During combat, the player must keep a running total of the Physical Damage (PD) points taken. This total determines the **Damage Total (DT)**, which measures the severity of injuries. The greater the DT, the more severe the injury, and the greater the chance of death. The DT is: DT = (Ten times the Total PD) / (HLT characteristic) **Example**: Derek received four wounds of PD 3, 5, 6, and 2, Derek's HLT = 9 so: DT = 10 x (3 + 5 + 6 + 2) / 9 = 160 / 9 = 17.8 = 18 The Basis of Recovery [R-FRP4-8.1.7.2]
