The magic system ofRhand is free-form and very powerful. It is divided into Subjects rather than specific spells to create varied. flexible, magical effects. This division destroys the limits imposed by learning spells -as a mage acquires experience in a subject. such as Fire, he gains an understanding of all its aspects and can form any Fire based spell that his power permits. In addition, as levels are gained Attributes are earned. These are free abilities that help protect the mage or augment his powers. The basic unit of magical energy is Magic Force (MF) which is required to cast all spells. The amount ofMF a mage can use in one spell depends on how well he has learned that spell's particular Subject. 08.00-magic.txt
