The Field of Attack is the area in which the character is aware of the opponents' actions. Figure 2 shows Facing on the hex grid used for combat. The area around the character has been divided into six zones. Depending on his Combat Skill Level, the Field of Attack can cover from one to all six of these zones. Any opponent within the Field Of Attack can be struck and parried. Opponents outside the Field Of Attack are not seen, and therefore cannot be attacked or parried.
